Privacy and data

Local tracker data

Applications, notes and status history are stored in IndexedDB inside your browser. This local-first copy lets the tracker work without an account and remain available offline on that device.

SAPS status requests

When you refresh an application, its SAPS reference number and an optional firearm serial number are sent to this app's server. The server submits the enquiry to the public SAPS status service and returns the result to your browser. Do not use another person's reference or serial details without permission.

Optional account sync

When you sign in, tracked applications and status history are copied to a Supabase database row protected by the signed-in user ID. Account sync runs no more than once per hour while the app is open, or when you choose Sync across devices. Devices signed in to the same account merge that data.

Analytics and notifications

The deployment uses Vercel Analytics for aggregate site usage measurement. If you enable browser notifications, the browser may create a push subscription so a status update can be delivered to that device. Camera, microphone and location access are not used.

Deleting data

Settings includes Delete all local data for the current browser. That action does not delete a signed-in account's cloud copy. A full account reset requires deleting the user from Supabase Authentication; the linked cloud tracker row is then removed by the database cascade.

Independent service

Track My SAPS Licence is not affiliated with SAPS or the Central Firearms Register. SAPS remains responsible for official application records, status wording and decisions.
